About KG Smooth

KG Smooth was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. A Multi talented individual who sings, dances, writes, produces, acts, hosts, and models. He chose radio. Even as a child, KG always wanted to be on the radio. God saw fit, and he was hired on the spot, with no radio experience, at WIZF 101.1 The Wiz Cincinnati, OH all based off of his voicemail greeting.

KG has done radio in several markets throughout his career including, 92.1 WZAK in Cleveland, K92.7 in Columbus, GA, and KISS 104.1 in Atlanta.

KG Smooth's career spans over 23 years in radio. He is now covering the airwaves with chocolate, weeknights with his mellifluous voice as host of Majic After Dark | The Quiet Storm. He is also the host of the community affairs program, The Public Affairs Podcast, which airs Sunday mornings on all three Radio One Houston brands. Some may remember his face as a cast member on season three and season four of the hit dating reality show, Ready To Love, on the Oprah Winfrey Network. KG has also launched his own wine called Quiet Storm Island Vibes Moscato, and most recently a red wine called Quiet Storm Shadow Red Blend. In December of 2021 KG Smooth was a recipient of The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteer Service throughout his radio career from President Joe Biden.
