Houston has a slowed concoction of taking something which already exists and mutating it into something totally different. New sound, new emotions, new feelings.

The film based on the life and legacy of DJ Screw is eying a production start of 2021, months after the debut of the visual tribute version.

The tribute documents various moments of Screw's life such as his adolescence, the emergence of chopped and screwed music and the one-man economy he built out of the fabled Wood Room, the beginnings of the Northside/Southside beef as well as infamous Screwed Up Click moments such as the recording of "June 27th."

The highly-anticipated All Screwed Up visual tribute to honor the late DJ Screw premieres on the 20th anniversary of his passing drops tonight and director Isaac "Chill" Yowman and Lil Keke stopped by Good Morning H-Town to detail the project, family blessings and more.

The visual will be free for all but select fans can receive a SCREW BOX collection capsule featuring exclusive tribute cassette tape + player, holographic collectors card, and other keepsake merchandise.

Next month, Isaac “Chill” Yowman and his team are prepping to reveal their DJ Screw visual project, All Screwed Up. After teasing it earlier this year with a full trailer as well as a clip of the recording of “June 27th,” the team is prepping the final touches to let their creation in honor of DJ Screw out […]

Fans were excited and more than happy regarding the project, seeing that Houston has its own music legends and the legend of legends deserved proper tribute in that fashion. With all of the fervor […]

As prolific as it has been with artists and community leaders receiving days in the city, the loudest name that didn’t have one was the godfather of the entire movement. That all changed today. In a press conference earlier today (Jan. 24), Mayor Turner’s daughter Ashley […]

November 16, 2000 will mark 20 years since Houston lost DJ Screw. The Originator has had many documents written about him, library exhibits and more. But never a television series that reimagines the life and legacy of Robert Earl Davis Jr., until now. Isaac “Chill” Yowman‘s “All Screwed Up” takes viewers back to the days of […]
