Instagram just got way more holier now that Pope Francis has joined.

That’s right — the 266th and current Pope of the Roman Catholic Church took an extra step in blessing everyone on the digital space by creating an Instagram account. Earlier today, the Pope shared his first photo, kneeling with his head bowed down in prayer. Francis captioned the photo: “Pray for me,” also written in eight other languages.

Francis made the grand announcement today via Twitter, stating the beginning of his new social media journey. In a matter of hours, the Pope racked up about 444,000 followers.

The CEO of Instagram also honored the moment with a photo of him shaking hands with Pope. How do you feel about the Pope joining the IG community? Sound off below.
