I never thought I’d end up smiling at the end of a funeral, BUT that’s exactly what I did during Sam Smith’s new “Lay Me Down” video. It feels good to know that there’s a very successful and talented celebrity speaking up about equal rights. Smith’s not backing down and uses his platform for a greater cause. It was relieving to see how happy Sam’s friends and family were when he tied the knot in the visual.  It took me some time to interpret what the video really meant, but now it’s understood that while some religious groups view Gay marriages as something scornful….others celebrate that notion of real love.

Here’s Smith’s comment about Lay Me Down’s concept and the video follows. ENJOY.

Dear All… This song holds a very dear place in my heart. With this video myself and Ryan Hope the director have decided to make a statement and showcase something we passionately believe in. This video shows my dreams that one day gay men and women and transgendered men and women all over the world, like all our straight families and friends, will be able to get married under any roof, in any city, in any town, in any village, in any country. I hope you enjoy it. I love you all x
