YoungBoy NBA is one of Baton Rogue’s rising stars but he’s latest in a long list of young rappers facing criminal charges for violence against women. The emerging rapper was arrested last month for assault, weapons and kidnapping charges after hotel surveillance footage showed him beating his then-girlfriend.

Last week, he was released on bail but now TMZ is reporting that he’s been charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping after video showed him dragging the woman into his hotel room. Unfortunately for YoungBoy (real name Kentrell Gaulden), he was already hit with a suspended sentence stemming from a guilty plea deal where he allegedly took part in a drive-by shooting in his native Baton Rouge. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for that case but instead received the suspended sentence and three years probation due to his guilty plea.

The terms of his plea involved remaining sober (no drugs, no alcohol), serve 250 hours of community service and do his best to stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, there’s no telling what may happen to YoungBoy as prosecutors may seek to reinstate his 10-year sentence.
