Ice Cube and Charlie Day are talking ‘Fist Fight’, their new movie that hits the screens on February 17.
The movie is about two high-school teachers… hotheaded “Ron Strickland” is played by Ice Cube and the pushover teacher “Andy Campbell” is played by Charlie Day.
In the movie trailer you can hear these lines:
Ron Strickland (Cube) says, “I’m gonna fight you.”
Andy Campbell (Charlie) says, “I’m sorry, what?”
Ron Strickland says, “Parking lot, after school.”
The reason Ron Strickland wants to fight Andy Campbell is because Andy rats Ron out and gets Ron fired.
Of course this isn’t your normal high-school so two teachers fighting after school instead of two students doesn’t seem to be too crazy.
In fact, the people start taking bets on who’s going to win.

When the tells Cube and Charlie that someone at some point has wanted to punch a co-worker’s face, Ice Cube says, “Oh, yeah. There’s somebody on every job that’s this close to getting their butt kicked, and they don’t even know it.”
Of course it’s still a movie and when asked if there were any “similarities” to real life fights vs. a movie fights, Cube says, “No. Movie fighting is choreographed, and you set it out and you stage it.”
Charlie’s response to that was, “If you accidentally get hit in a movie fight, you can be like ‘cut, cut’ and that’s not going to work in a real fight.”
‘Fist Fight’ has a slew of executive producers including stars Ice Cube and Charlie Day and the movie has other comedians in it like Tracy Morgan, Jillian Bell, Kumail Nanjiani, and Kym Whitley as the 911 operator along with actress Christina Hendricks and many others.
