Today, August 15th is National Relaxation Day.
The idea of National Relaxation Day is to find a way for you to unwind and somehow to celebrate today with relaxation.
We know that usually people are off on the weekends and instead of taking a breather for themselves, they are taking care of things that they can’t do during their work week, and that mean that they’re still working, just “off the clock.”
The history of today is, today was founded in 1985, by Sean Moeller.

Since Moeller founded this National Day 31 years ago, it has been proven in a variety of studies that stress is harmful to our health.
That is why Moeller is saying that we need a day to slow down and to really chill because too much work can run us down, make us sick and exhausted.
The idea of today is to take a break from our fast-paced lives that can be juggled between children, work or a social life and make everything hectic .
Here is a list of activities to do for relaxation:
  • Reading a book
  • Fishing with a friend
  • A picnic in the park
  • Walking along the beach
  • Taking a drive in the country
  • Spa
  • Golfing
  • Photography
  • A movie
  • Window shopping
  • Lunch with friends
  • Drinks with friends
  • Watching sports
  • Swimming
They didn’t mention mediation music such as rain, flute or anything else that might be considered soothing.
There are a variety of suggestions on how to observe today and they took into consideration that not everyone can take off of work today off too, but they have a few tips for afterwork moments.
You can take a few deep breaths, and find a way to relax…
They’re asking to share with others too by using #NationalRelaxationDay on social media and to spread the word too.
