The Houston Texans’ have are lucky to have one of the oldest players in the NFL on their team… their kicker, Shane Lechler.
The East Bernard’s took his team to semi-state finals his senior year and later left to attended Texas A&M.

Lechler is a versatile player for sure.. not only was he his high school teams quarterback, punter and place kicker, but he almost became our third string quarterback in 2014, when both Ryan Fitzpatrick went out with a leg injury and his second, Tom Savage hurt himself during a play too.
Lechler was sent to warm up, but Savage played through his injury and ended up throin an interception and the Texans lost the game 17-10 against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Texans Long snapper, Jon Weeks was selected to help celebrate his teammate Lechler’s 40th,
Weeks said, “His wife had a lot to do with that. She got a hold of my wife, they gave me the supplies and the specialists group unit and we decorated it. I think we did a pretty good job, I was pretty impressed.”
When Weeks said “we decorated it,” he meant kickers Nick Novak and Ka’imi Fairbairn.

Texans fans make sure to wish the GOAT 🐐 Shane Lechler a Happy Birthday!

“We give him such a hard time about his age every day, it’s not any different,” Weeks said. “We’re having some fun with him, we are.”
It’s good to hear that on March 11, 2016, Lechler signed a one-year, $1,300,00 contract with the Texans.
