Last year in October, the Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon for a routine interview.
During his interview they discussed Radcliffe’s obsession and love for hip-hop music.
During that interview, Fallon asked Radcliffe what rap he liked the most and he said “intentionally I got into Eminem and I was obsessed with like learning, every kid in my class, I think I was the first kid in my class who learned all the words to The Real Slim Shady.”

Radcliffe said he really liked “memorizing complicated lyrically” songs. So the Blackalicious song falls into that category with their “Alphabet Aerobics” song.
The hip-hop duo of Blackalicious is made up of rapper MC Gift of Gab, or his real name, Timothy Parker and DJ/producer Chief Xcel, or his real name Xavier Mosley. MC Gift of Gab is known best for his “tongue-twisting”, multisyllabicc, complex rhymes while Chief Xcel is is known for his “classic” beats.
“He killed it,” MC Gift of Gab says. “We’re friends with [‘Tonight Show’ bandleader] Questlove, and he tweeted at us, telling us to watch the show. [Radcliffe] kept in time and everything. He did a great job- I was actually a little surprised!”
The Alphabetic Aerobic track was originally released back in 1999 on the “A2G”and it contains 26 tongue-twisting verses that as each letter of the alphabet gets higher, the rhymes get faster.
The vid of his rap on the Fallon show has over 45 million views online and it also helped out the hip-hop duo with a financial boost too, even though they won’t tell you how much it helped them out.
Blackalicious hit up their Twitter page, @blackalicious_ announcing their newest album drop, etc… they said, “#PreOrerFriday The 10 year wait is over. #IMANIVOL1 #BLACKALICIOUS @AppleMusic @iTunes…”
They’re newest album is scheduled to drop in September …. you can go to iTunes and pre-order it too.
