Jason Roy will always remember the date of May 3, 2011. Roy was in a high-speed chase when his squad car flipped over several times leaving him paralyzed from the neck down.
I remember thinking to myself, When is the car going to stop flipping? Then I started to pray to God, and I asked him to forgive me of my sins, Roy recalled.
Initially, it didn’t look like the 5-year veteran of the Houston Police Department would walk again. But after major surgery, a long recovery and a lot of rehabilitation, Roy has worked himself into walking again and reclaiming his life.
His progress has been so dramatic that even some experts are surprised.
Roy’s strong determination to walk again after retiring from the police force now finds him taking another life’s interesting journey, he’s become an author.
