Ringo Starr Honored With The "Lifetime Of Peace & Love Award" By The David Lynch Foundation - Arrivals

Sheila E. (aka Sheila Escovedo) is marking a huge career milestone – the musician is celebrating 40 years in the music industry. The artist, who is 56, was a member of Prince’s band in the 1980s and even wrote many of his songs.

To honor her career, Sheila E. was awarded the 2014 Hispanicize “Latinovator” award.

“Like other Latino visionaries, Sheila E. embodies what a crossover star is. Her achievements have opened doors for many aspiring Latinas, artists and actors,” said Manny Ruiz, the organizer and creative director of Hispanicize 2014.

Sheila E. is releasing a new CD, “Icon”, in April and an autobiography titled “The Beat of My Own Drum” published by Simon & Schuster later this year.
