A Houston author has taught her preteen a lesson on posting potentially embarrassing photos to the internet after a photo she posted of her child’s punishment has gone viral.

ReShonda Tate Billingsley, who’s authored several books, happened to come across a picture of her 12-year-old daughter’s Instagram postings and found the girl had posted a photo of herself holding a bottle of her father’s alcohol with the caption: “Wish I could drink this Vodka.”

The Mom took action by posting a photo of the girl holding a sign that said: “Since I want to post photos of me holding liquor, I am obviously not ready for social media and will be taking a hiatus until I learn what I should and should not post. Bye-Bye : (” Only the bottom portion of her face, which appears to be crying, can be seen. The photo was posted to the girl’s Instagram account and to her mother’s Facebook page.

Mrs. Reshonda Tate Billingsley talked to The Madd Hatta Morning Show and she thought that the punishment should happen in the same place where her child’s mistake occured and that’s online.

“My daughter begged for a beating but I didn’t think she would understand the severity of the situation with just a beating.”
