As I was going through my book list, I started thinking about the five books that truly shaped me into the person I am today. These aren’t just books — they’ve been guides, anchors, and teachers that helped me navigate life, especially during times when I needed direction, wisdom, or simply a reminder to keep going.

1. The Bible

This was the first book ever introduced to me — by my grandmother. It’s more than a religious text; it’s been a source of strength, comfort, and guidance through every season of my life.

2. The Autobiography of Malcolm X

Reading this was a turning point. Malcolm’s journey showed me that no matter the odds stacked against you, transformation is possible. His story is raw, real, and powerful — a must-read for anyone seeking purpose and growth.

3. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

A small book filled with ancient wisdom. This one taught me about personal freedom and how much peace comes from simply honoring your word, not taking things personally, and breaking toxic cycles.

4. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

One of my favorite authors. This book is about recognizing the signs around you, trusting the process, and boldly following your dreams — even when the path isn’t clear.

5. The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins

A game-changer. This book helped me stop trying to control how others act, think, or feel. Instead, it focuses on protecting your peace, setting boundaries, and putting your energy into what you can control — yourself.

These five books have helped me grow spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. If you’re on a journey of self-discovery or simply trying to navigate life a little better, I highly recommend adding them to your list.
