Houston Rockets forward Dillon Brooks and center Jock Landale are set to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics men’s basketball quarterfinal Tuesday.
Brooks and Canada went 3-0 in group play, earning the top seed from Group A. Canada joined the United States and Germany as the only teams to leave group play undefeated. Brooks posted a line of 14.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg and 1.7 assists through the tournament.
Landale’s Australia has not had as much success so far in the tournament, posting a 1-2 record in group play, including a 93-83 loss to Canada. Despite the Boomer’s struggles, Lansdale posted 17.7 ppg, 9.7 rpg and 3.3 ast, taking on more of a central role than with the Rockets.

There’s a path for Brooks and Landale to meet in the Gold Medal Game, but both teams have a difficult path to it right out of the gates. Brooks and Canada will have to face France and the NBA’s reigning Rookie of the Year, center Victor Wembanyama, and reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year, center Rudy Gobert. Landale and Australia are set to face three-time NBA MVP center Nikola Jokić. Landale will likely have to take on the role of slowing down Jokić, one of the most difficult jobs in basketball.
If the Boomers can defeat Serbia, the winner of the Team USA and Brazil game will be their next opponent.
Australia will play Serbia at 7:30 a.m. USCT on USA Network, Peacock and NBCOlympics.com. Canada will face off against France at 11 a.m. USCT on Peacock and NBCOlympics.com.
