The world is in shock and mourning from the news of legendary singer Whitney Houston‘s passing on Saturday. On the eve of the Grammy Awards, the mood of the red carpet at various events was quite somber. The only talk on the red carpet was of Whitney Houston. Clive Davis continued on with his annual Pre-Grammy Party. He said Whitney wouldn’t have had it any other way. Our prayers go out to the Houston family, friends and fans during this very difficult time.

Celebs took to twitter and facebook to share their thought about Whitney Houston. Check out some of the reactions below.

Clive Davis had this to say –

“By now you have all learned of the unspeakably tragic news of our beloved Whitney’s passing. I don’t have to mask my emotion in front of a room full of so many dear friends. I am personally devastated by the loss of someone who has meant so much to me for so many years.

Whitney was so full of life. She was so looking forward to tonight even though she wasn’t scheduled to perform. She loved music and she loved this night that celebrates music.

My heart goes out to her daughter Bobbi Christina, to her mother Cissy, to all of her relatives and to so many of you here tonight, her extended family who loved and cherished her and her spirit.

Whitney was a beautiful person and a talent beyond compare. She graced this stage with her regal presence and gave so many memorable performances here over the years. Simply put, Whitney would have wanted the music to go on and her family asked that we carry on.

I ask that you join me in a moment of silence as we dedicate this evening to Whitney.”

Singer Mario had this to say of his official facebook page –

“R.I.P Whitney Houston, we will miss you very much. My heart is heavy this morning. I can remember when I signed with J Records at age 14 and seeing you perform. I was inspired by your presence back then and I will continue to be inspired by you. May God bless your soul.”

Singer Alicia Keys comforted Clive Davis shortly after learning the news. Here’s what she had to say via her facebook page –

“I feel sick…. Life is precious, we are fragile souls. Let’s love each other!

I miss you beautiful Whitney, the whole world misses you!!”

Singer Brandy always made it known that Whitney Houston was her idol. She took to twitter and simply asked –

“Whyyyyyyyyyyyy???????????????”
