Eric Berry Out For Season
Today Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid announced that during last night’s win over the New England Patriots, safety Eric Reid ruptured his Achilles’ tendon.
During the game, three-time first-team All-Pro held up coverage against Rob Gronkowski, but went down in the mid-fourth never to return.
The loss of Berry is a massive blow to the Chiefs’ team and find a replacement will not be easy.
“You’re not going to replace Eric Berry with another Eric Berry,” Reid said, via Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com.
Berry signed a six-year contract in February worth $78 million.
This Achilles’ tendon injury isn’t his first season off the time. Back in 2014, when Berry was 28, he battled and survived Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer.
