The horrific choking and strangulation incident took place on May 28 and by May 31, the victim, John Hernandez was dead.

It all started that Sunday night when the 24-year old John Hernandez, his wife along with their 3-year old daughter were enjoying his favorite soccer team Chivas Guadalajara defeat the Tigres and yes, he had even drinking while watching them win too.
After the game had ended, the family decided to stop at their local Denny’s for something to eat and once at Denny’s and according to witnesses and the surveillance footage Mr. Hernandez decided that he needed to go outside to urinate.
While outside peeing next to his car John’s attacker Mr. Thompson and his family saw him and approached Johnny to make him stop.
It was when Thompson approached Johnny than John attempted to swing on Mr. Thompson and according to the Denny’s employees, this is when Thompson grabbed him MMA style and was on top of John in a chokehold while punching Johnny’s head at the same time.
At some point John’s attacker’s HCO wife was next to her husband watching and maybe participating while he was choking Johnny and she didn’t do anything to stop it.
According to USA Today, John Hernandez’s wife and his 3-year old ran out of Denny’s screaming and crying saying.
“She was crying and telling (the man beating Hernandez) stop and he didn’t even stop,” Mrs. Hernandez said. “I told him please stop. Don’t do that to him. He’s drunk. He wasn’t in any position to fight. But, he didn’t have any compassion. He was really angry.”
According to the police statement, “Deputies were told that a 41-year old man, accompanied by his children, pulled into the restaurant parking lot, where they observed a 24-year old male urinating in public view. The 41-year old male verbally confronted the other male about his behavior, and a physical altercation ensued.”
Witnesses said that it took 10 minutes for John to stop breathing and even after that, his attacker, Thompson, wouldn’t release John from the chokehold.
After the attacker finally let go of the none breathing Johnny, his wife, the “off-duty” officer allegedly performed CPR on him.
Now, the local media outlets have released videos from witnesses cell phones and they have released both of the attackers names in full form in their news conferences too.
