Last night, on his talkshow, Jimmy Kimmel gave a dope heartfelt monologue about their newborn son William “Billy” Kimmel being born with heart disease.
During the entirety, Kimmel is choked up with emotions and tears, but he did keep up with cracking jokes that only Kimmel could get away with.

Kimmel started off by saying, “I have to tell you about something that happened to our family last week. I’m sorry, you know I try not to get emotional, but it was a scary story.”
He tells us that his son was born a little over a week ago on April 21st and that it was an easy delivery and that everything when well and they were moved to a recovery and such… and a “very attentive nurse was checking him out and heard a murmur on his heart which is common with newborn babies, but she also noticed that he was purple.”
He’s saying how it was that quick moment when they quickly whisked Billy away with Kimmel and they had a slew of doctors and nurses and they told him that it was either the baby’s lungs or heart and with testing, they pinpointed it to the heart.
The doctors called a pediatric cardiologist who was at the airport picking his mother up, but the doctor made it quickly and performed an echocardiogram on the baby’s heart and discovered that Billy was born with a heart disease.
Kimmel continues to say that they were transferred to the Children’s hospital and his son received cardiac surgery to fix his heart. Kimmel said, “The operation was a success. It was the longest three hours of my life- but it was a success.”
He thanked everyone he could think of at the hospital… his family and inlays and even said, “We had Atheists praying for us,” but the audience laughed since Kimmel was still landing jokes.
He said, “And I hate to say it- even that son of a [bleep] Matt Damon sent flowers.”
Kimmel asked that the viewers please pray for the children and their families who are still in the hospital.
It’s a very emotional and choking and you have to check it out if you have yet.
Last night he tweeted out:

“On behalf of my family, thank you for the lovely and loving tweets about our son Billy and for your donations to XO”

And this afternoon, Kimmel tweeted out a picture of his wife Molly, their daughter Jane and Billy saying:

“Sincere thanks for the outpouring of love & support- Dr. Jane is keeping a close ear on Billy, who is very well- XO”
