Often times, blacks and latinos don’t get represented well on the stage. Whenever directors/companies produce classic shows, it’s a predominantly white cast. I think that’s one of the reasons why our people shy away from theater. I applaud TUTS (Theatre Under The Stars) for going against the grain and adding shows to its 2016-2017 season that will be appealing to a more diverse crowd. Check out the list of plays they’re doing:
In The Heights – September 13 – 25
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying – October 25 – November 6
Into The Woods – December 6 – 18
An American in Paris – February 21 – March 5
Dreamgirls – April 4 – 16
Fun Home – May 16 – 28
