A 65-year old barber was recently arrested in South Carolina after he pulled his gun on a potential customer.
When Arthur Hill moved to S. Carolina from New York, he did it for a better life for his family. And since Hill is new to the state and area, he just walked into Larry Thomas’ barber shop expecting a quick in and out experience.
All Hill wanted was a shave before he went to work and it was to his surprise the response that he received wasn’t what anyone would want to walk in on.

Hill said, “I asked him does he shave, Can I have a shave? He said, ‘I don’t do black hair. I asked him does he she, can he shave me and he said, ‘I don’t do black hair.”‘
Hill was stunned and he told Thomas, “I can’t have facial hair, I work around food” and he asked Thomas to clarify what he meant by it.
He said, ‘Are yo referring to African American hair?’ He told me ‘Yeah,’ and that’s when Hill noticed the barber was holding his .38 snub nose chrome revolver.
And the million dollar question is, why did the barber bust out the gun?
The barber said that he always keeps his gun out and that he felt threatened on how Hill came at him.
Hill clearly told the barber that he didn’t want any trouble, but when he left, Hill contacted the Sheriff’s office anyway.
He said, “I was shocked, I was shocked for my life, because I’m thinking that could’ve been me laying on the floor dead. He did not point it at me, but it was clear in sight like he meant business.”
The barber said, “I’ve had black people come in the door before and I tell them I don’t cut black hair.”
This isn’t the first time that the barber has offended people either, a customer Victoria Erwin said that stop supporting the barber’s shop after she referred a customer and he sent him packing before he could completely walk inside.
She said, “He walked in and he didn’t even have one foot in the for and this man did say, ‘I don’t do black people’s hair,’ and they were very shocked.”
Unfortunately, this incident has Hill double thinking his move to S. Carolina from NYC for that better life… “I’m thinking about going back. I’ve been on this earth for 37 years, and have never experienced something like this.”
