Kendrick Lamar blessed us with the surprise release of untitled unmastered last night.
Although it’s only been out for a few hours, we’ve gotten a chance to listen to the project all the way through and noticed that Kendrick might’ve responded to Jay Electronica’s disses.
Back in February, Jay Electronica released a song titled “#TBE The Curse Of Mayweather,” in which he fired off shots at the Compton rapper.
“He’s got 11 Grammy nominations, y’all not equal. Maaaan, f-ck these white people. My grandmother died at 82 scrubbing floor, And n*ggas still running around begging for awards,” raps Jay Elec.
K.Dot’s TDE camp has been relatively quiet about the brewing beef, but not anymore.
On the eight-minute “untitled 07| 2014-2016,” Kendrick Lamar raps, “Just know the mechanics of making your choice
and writin’ your bars/ Before you poke out your chest, loosen your bra/ Before you step out of line and dance with the star/I can never end a career if it never start.”
TDE’s President, Punch, lightweight confirmed the diss was about Jay Electronica with this tweet:
Fun fact, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys’ five-year-old son Egypt produced “untitled 07| 2014-2016.” Remember when Swizz Beatz shared a video of Egypt hanging out with Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z at the Super Bowl? Turns out they were working.
