And the twisted Making a Murderer docu-series just got even more confusing.

Steven Avery’s ex-fiancée Jodi Stachowski took to Nancy Grace’s show Wednesday night to claim that Avery did in fact kill photographer Teresa Halbach. Stachowski also called Avery a “monster,” and alleged that he “beat her all the time.”

He told me once, all bitches owe him, because the one that sent him to prison the first time. We all owed him. And he could do whatever he wanted,” she said.

She said Avery threatened to hurt her if she didn’t paint a nice picture of him on Netflix’s Making A Murderer.

Steven called me and told me that if I didn’t say anything good and nice about him, I’d pay. He’d beat me.”

She used her alleged abuse as an explanation as to why he’d kill Halbach. When asked if she thought he was guilty of the crime, she responded, “Yes, I do. Because he threatened to kill me and my family and a friend of mine.” Stachowski even recounted the time she ate two boxes of rat poison just so she could be rushed to the hospital and get away from him.

The couple was engaged when Avery was charged with Halbach’s murder in 2005; they broke up in 2007. Stachowski’s claims of abuse and sudden change of heart come one day after Avery filed an appeal, asserting his due process rights were violated.
