Even though I’m on the radio, acting is my first love. One of my favorite characters to play was the Scarecrow in The Wiz. We had a Toto in our entire show because my director added a special part for a person to play the dog in the play. However, in the original musical version of “The Wiz” it’s not written like that, so that’s what NBC’s “The Wiz Live” was going off on Thursday. In other words, the crew didn’t make an adaption when it came to that section of the script; there was reason for that little dog not to be there, my pretty! (Wicked Witch voice)
