Everyone knows the Nature Boy, Ric Flair from WWE, the “WOOOOO!” guy.
The announcement came out that ESPN is doing a 30/30 on Flair and that filming has begun already.
The question is how will it all turn out since Bill Simmons left ESPN for HBO…
Flair said on his podcast:
“Well, it’s my whole life. It’s got a little bit to do with my airplane crash, of course, and then coming back from that. And then the titles and the championships and it touches a lot on my personal life, which has been up and down. Right now, it’s perfect, but I had a couple rough years there. And it talks about my son, Reid. [ESPN] wanted to talk about him, how special he was to me. And then, a lot about Ashley, Charlotte, who is now the champion in WWE, the Divas division. And about my other two children, Megan and David. So, it was very nice. And then, it talked about where I am today.”
Flair continued with saying that it took time for ESN and WWE to unite together, a year and a half. He continued with saying, “very, very protective of their intellectual property. The main sticking point was allowing ESPN to use the WWE-owned footage.”
The joining of forces is something that has been wanted by WWE’s former commentator, Jonathan Coachman.
Coachman announced the news on Twitter in October:

You have been asking for years and we are about to take another step. So excited. 48 hours. .

Remember we want to serve fans anytime anywhere. Athletes are @WWE fans. Superstars are sports fan. https://twitter.com/thetrampro/status/653391973747965952 …

Flair said that ESPN was originally looking at doing a documentary on Andre the Giant, but they took another spin at it and decided to do one on Flair instead.
With Bill Simmons leaving ESPN to HBO, it came out that Simmons is going to be doing his first project on Andre the Giant… it’s still happening, just on another network.
Ric Flair is still active in WWE, he’s seen cheering on this daughter Charlotte who is currently hold the Diva Champ title.
Flair has a variety of legacies to tell, according to Flair’s wikipedia, he Flair is the first ever two-time inductee in WWE Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 2008 for his individual career and again in 2012 as a member of the Four Horsemen and Flair was also inducted into the NWA Hall of Fame in 2008.
