Some entertainers need not wait for adulthood for the spark of talent to manifest. Unable to be contained by mere years, their gift sprouts early—and in doing so, it shines all the brighter. The son of a musician/preacher, Torion grew up in in a Georgia home steeped in both music and Christian values. On the fateful day that he stood up in church to mime along with one of his father’s sermons, he was unaware that his future was waiting in the pews. Immediately recognizing the boy’s natural stage presence, eventual manager David McPherson asked Torion to sing for him after the service was over. After only a few bars, McPherson knew that he had a star on his hands.
