Donald Trump has taken his feud with Univsion to a whole ‘notehr level.
On Friday, Trump published a Univision anchor’s personal phone number and banned all of the channel’s executives from using the Trump golf course in Miami, the latest in a feud between the real estate mogul and the largest Spanish language network in the country over recent comments Trump made about Mexican immigrants.
CNN reports on a letter Trump released on Friday:
“Under no circumstances is any officer or representative of Univision allowed to use Trump National Doral, Miami,” the letter read.
Trump added a P.S.: “Please congratulate your Mexican Government officials for having made such outstanding trade deals with the United States. However, inform them that should I become President, those days are over.”
Trump also posted a personal hand-written note that Univision correspondent Jorge Ramos had sent him requesting an interview. The note included Ramos’ cell phone number.
Univision hit back that same day, sending out a memo to its employees that they “should not stay at Trump properties while on company business or hold events/activities there.”
This entire brouhaha began when Trump said Mexicans are “rapists” and are “bringing drugs and crime to this country” during his presidential bid announcement, drawing widespread condemnation.
After that fiasco, Univision said its entertainment division was ending its relationship with Trump’s Miss Universe Organization, and will not televise the pageant on July 12.
CNN also reports that Trump went on Fox News Thursday to say:”Of course I’m standing by the statement,” and that he intends to sue Univision for refusing to carry the Miss Universe show.
