Dope debuted on the box office charts at number five this past weekend, while the sleeper smash hit Jurassic World maintained its view from the top at number one.

“The film [‘Dope’] is likely to have legs on reported strong word-of-mouth,” per Box Office Mojo.

We’ll be looking forward to seeing next week’s numbers.

True Detective season two premiered last night, and now we have a first look at the continuing story on next week’s episode. True Detective stars Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams, and Taylor Kitsch.

You can catch new episodes every Sunday at 9 p.m. EST on HBO. Luckily, DVR allows you to keep up with both the Kardashians and True Detective, when the shows’ time slots overlap when Keeping Up comes back from hiatus.

In other HBO series news, Ballers allows you to get some behind-the-scenes intel on what went into conceptualizing and executing the production of the first episode in the video above. The Rock, never one to stop reinventing himself, stars as a washed-up former football player.

You can watch Ballers at 10 p.m. EST, right after True Detective.

Reports suggest Ava DuVernay will direct Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther film production. Her resume certainly suggests she’s up for the job—DuVernay is first Black female director to be nominated for a Golden Globe and the first Black female director to be nominated for an Oscar, both for the film SelmaComplex is reporting that confirmation from both Marvel and DuVernay is soon to come.
