Although Floyd Mayweather’s fight against Manny Pacquiao this past Saturday (May 2) netted him an estimated $100 million, it appears as though some of that money may be exiting Mayweather’s bank account before it’s even entered it.

According to TMZ, Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend Josie Harris — with whom he has three children — recently filed a lawsuit claiming that the boxer “ruined her [life] with lies to save his own ass.”

In an interview with Yahoo’s Katie Couric a few weeks back, Mayweather claimed that Harris was on drugs when he allegedly attacked her back in 2010. Mayweather was later convicted for domestic violence and spent two months behind bars for the purported assault.

“Did I kick, stomp and beat someone? No, that didn’t happen,” Mayweather said during the interview. “I look in your face and say, ‘No, that didn’t happen.’

“Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did,” he added. “So if they say that’s domestic violence, then, you know what? I’m guilty. [I’m guilty] of restraining a person.”

Harris says that because of Mayweather’s lies, she has now been labeled as a drug addict and has been embarrassed and humiliated on a global scale. In addition, Harris says that Mayweather was in a jealous rage the night of the alleged attack. She recalls him breaking into her home and assaulting her while she was sleeping on the couch. Their children allegedly saw part of the beating.

Harris’ lawyer, Dan Friedlander, reportedly wrote in the lawsuit that Mayweather’s “lies” to Couric “were knowingly fabricated in order to hype [his] upcoming fight with Pacquiao, to avoid bad press by deflecting responsibility for beating the mother of his children.”

TMZ reports that Harris is seeking in excess of $20 million.
