I cannot believe I’ve driven past Christies Seafood and Steaks on Westheimer Road so many times over the years with absolutely no idea what magic was behind those closed doors! Right on the corner of Westheimer and Greenridge is Houston History, a place where Presidents come to dine – a hub for the Greek community, a place for families to gather. Almost every day I would drive past the restaurant with the lighthouse on its roof top, never stopping but always wondering. All that changed the day that my good friend and reporter for ABC 13 called Foti Kallergis, to inform me that he had been nominated for a daytime Emmy, so I told Foti if he won I would treat him to dinner at his favorite restaurant. The next day I got a text message showing me a picture of a little bronze statue and so the date was set.
