(HOUSTON) – Houston Texans fans are not letting concerns about the Ebola virus stop them from attending Sunday’s big football game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Lindsay Scovil, a representative for the fan group Traveling Texans, expects thousands of Houstonians to make the trip to Dallas.
According to Scovil, while some fans have expressed concerns about the Ebola virus, they are not changing their plans.
“They’re definitely talking about the fact that we are all going into where this is right now at the moment,” said Scovil. “We have not heard from anybody we has decided not to go.”
Scovil said some fans traveling to Dallas are planning to take some precautions.
“Most of the precautions that people are planning to take are kind of your basic healthy, wellness precautions,” said Scovil. “Washing your hands a lot, making sure that you’re not sharing a drink with somebody else. You know, just being a little more careful with things like that.”
Scovil said the good news is that Houstonians are taking time out to get educated about Ebola.
“I think that’s been important too, that people have paid attention to making sure that, you know, this isn’t dangerous for us to be going up to Dallas,” said Scovil. “Everybody is going to be fine, but it’s good to be aware of what the situation is.”
