(HOUSTON) — No child’s play here. Crack cocaine tucked inside a doll sent a Houston carnival worker to prison.

John Whitfield Jr. was convicted for having 37 grams of crack cocaine shipped to him inside the doll while he was running children’s rides at a fair in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Latest News Headlines, Traffic and Weather:

The 56-year-old Houston man was arrested after authorities intercepted the package, which was reportedly worth more than $8,000 on the street. Police said they also found more drug evidence in Whitfield’s truck.

His attorney argued — unsuccessfully — that her client never saw or possessed the package.

Whitfield was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay more than $8,000 in court costs.
