(HOUSTON) — The Houston Rockets responded Tuesday to the news of LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s ban from the NBA.

The Rockets’ season is on the line. They are one loss away from elimination, but that doesn’t mean the magnitude of this decision escapes them.

The Latest News Headlines, Traffic and Weather:

Players have already taken a stance on the issue. In the heat of a grueling seven-game series, both the Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers wore black socks during Game 4 as a sign of solidarity.

“I think it’s disgusting and that there’s no room for that in the league,” Chandler Parsons said. “The NBA handled it the way they should.”

Most of the nation has been outraged at the comments made by Sterling, but Dwight Howard gives us something to think about.

“I feel like it shouldn’t take an incident for people to stand together,” Howard said. “We’ve all got to be together at all times. Anytime something goes wrong, that’s when you want to stand up and stand out. But I think, as people, we should all stand up and stand out in our everyday lives.”

This isn’t over quite yet. Sterling is banned for life from the NBA and he will have to pay a $2.5 million fine, but in order to force Sterling to sell the Clippers, the league needs support from 22 of the 29 owners.
