In addition to her stellar musical ability, Lorde has become known for making bold, often uncensored comments about other artists. The 17-year-old New Zealand singer continued that practice in a recent interview with Interview Magazine.

Speaking about the 2012 beginnings of her “Love Club” EP, Lorde discussed the state of music at the time. “Around the middle of last year I started listening to a lot of rap, like Nicki Minaj and Drake, as well as pop singers like Lana Del Rey. They all sing about such opulence, stuff that just didn’t relate to me — or anyone that I knew,” Lorde said. “I began thinking, ‘How are we listening to this? It’s completely irrelevant.'”

The young lady certainly has her own opinion and we don’t fault her for expressing it honestly. Via her twitter account she expounds further by shouting out a certain magazine basically saying they can make attempts at trying to create beef but that she maintains nothing but love and admiration for the rappers.
