HARRIS COUNTY, TX (CoveringKaty.com) – One of the victims from a weekend mass shooting in Cypress was 17-year-old Morton Ranch High School student Queric Richardson. Richardson died at the scene and a 16 year old girl died after being transported to Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center. Her name has not been released. A third person is in critical condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital. A total of 18 people were shot including the two victims and the hospitalized person.
“I just don’t want anybody to push things under the rug thinking he was a bad person and that bad people deserve bad things. My son was a good person. He was my best friend,” Richardson’s father Lawrence Giudry told KTRK-TV.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says at least 20 people were injured after a person with a gun opened fire at a birthday party attended by about 100 people.
“It was a birthday party gone wild,” said Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia.
The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 7300 block of Enchanted Creek Drive near FM 529 in the Cypress area.
