I was really frustrated by a recent conversation I had with this guy. He told me that I am single because I don’t know what I want. Just when I wanted to roll my eyes, twist my neck and go clean off, I began to tell him that I am actually single because I DO know what I want.
My list isn’t even long! And no, I don’t believe in the “Perfect” person. I sure as hell am not perfect.
I’ve always said that I wanted 3 things in a man.
#1 Someone who is Passionate. Passionate for me, his family, his career, his community and most importantly the Lord.
#2 A leader.
#3 Someone that will love the hell out of me and my daughter.
Seems pretty easy to me!
I asked my women followers on Facebook and Twitter what they want in a man and this is what they said…
**Someone who has his life in order, knows exactly what he wants, strives to be better, makes time to spend with his woman, honest, faithful, forgiving, has integrity, trustworthy, has the basics (job, car, his own place to live) mentally, physically, emotionally and financially stable, able to bring at least what I’m bringing to the table, loyal, strong, knows how to communicate, respectful, loving, spiritual. A woman wants to feel special. She wants to feel important.
Those qualities don’t seem too extreme either.
So let’s examine the possibilities of why we can’t get what we want…
#1 WE ALL HAVE FREAKIN’ ISSUES! It is true. Past relationships and how we saw our parents or DID NOT SEE OUR PARENTS relationship has screw’d some of us up! Most of us don’t even recognize it. We go on making the same mistakes over and over and over because we can’t fix what we can’t acknowledge is there. (Therapy helps with this by the way)
#2 It’s so much easier to settle for less. Good relationships take work. Getting that guy who has all the qualities that you want will take some weeding out and that could take some time. But because you are so desperate for love or the “feeling of love” you end up just settling for that wack guy that treats you good every other Monday.

I know exactly what I want. I choose to be by myself right now until I feel like GOD has presented the right man to me. I have prayed that He will show me a sign that he was sent from God. Like a big note “I WAS SENT FROM GOD”! I’m just saying…let’s eliminate any confusion. LOL!
In the meantime, I refuse to be the “main” girl, the “side chic” or a piece of *SS when i know I am “THE ONE”.
