Gunplay will await trial for charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault in the comfort of his home instead of in a Miami jail cell. The Maybach Music rapper has been placed under house arrest after posting 150-thousand-dollar bond Monday morning. His attorney, Michael Grieco, tells Hiphopwired.com the judge granted the bond because the state failed to prove Gunplay was “a flight risk or a threat to the community.” Bail represents a crucial step for Gunplay as he attempts to clear his name and “continue his emerging music career.”
Gunplay turned himself in to Miami authorities on October 10th after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The rapper is accused of robbing a tax office back in April. In that incident, Gunplay and an accomplice allegedly stole a gold chain and a cell phone before the rapper allegedly pistol whipped the worker. If he is convicted, he could face life in prison.
