Are you ready for some football?! Hank’s back for 23rd year!

(Undated)  —  Hank Williams Jr. will once again launch “Monday Night Football.”  The singer is starting his 23rd season singing the theme for the weekly games, airing on ESPN.  He filmed this year’s opening at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida back in July, with more than 200 extras participating in the shoot.  The taping took place when the NFL lockout was still in effect and the 2011-2012 football season was an uncertainty.  But Hank was confident the players and owners would come to a resolution in time to save the season.  He shared his theory with ESPN, explaining his belief that neither side would be so stubborn that they would risk alienating the fans by forcing the cancellation of the season. 

Hank Jr. also isn’t the only country star finding a steady gig through football again this season.  Last night Faith Hill kicked off her fifth year singing the theme to NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.”
