Deadline is reporting that Will Smith is set to produce and star in “The Legend of Cain,” a film described as a biblical tale with a vampire twist.

Smith will reportedly play Cain, a crop farmer in the Biblical story of brothers Cain and Abel, a shepherd. Cain is portrayed as sinful, committing the first murder by killing his younger brother after God rejects his offerings of produce, but accepts the animal sacrifices brought by Abel.

He’ll produce with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment partners James Lassiter, and Ken Stovitz.

The script was written by Caleeb Pinkett and Dan Knauf, with Andrea Berloff revising. A studio or director has yet to be attached.

Vampires and the bible have been intertwined before – including “Dracula 2000,” where we come to learn the infamous bloodsucker is actually Judas.

Smith, meanwhile, begins production on “Men in Black III” in August.
