Jermall Charlo v Brandon Adams

It was Lion’s Only last night at NRG Arena when Jermall Charlo (29-0, 21 KOs) successfully defended his WBC Middleweight crown against Brandon Adams. Charlo told G Man and J-Que last week that he had something big in store for his entrance and sure enough, he had plenty of Houston backup with him as he walked to the ring.

Texans legend Andre Johnson held up the Middlweight belt as the Charlo camp strolled to the ring. Then the very familiar sounds of a remixed version of Eric B & Rakim’s “Paid In Full” swelled inside the arena — and everybody began rapping along.

“Z-Ro is one of the legends of Houston,” Charlo said after the fight. “I appreciate Z-Ro coming out with me and getting the city to stand up for me.”

Charlo wore Houston Oiler color trunks to the ring and made sure the crowd went home happy with a more than lopsided decision against Adams.
