Trouble may face Birdman and Young Thug for their roles in Lil Wayne‘s tour bus shooting in 2015.

According to WSB-TV, the Cobb County District Attorney will decide in the next few weeks whether or not to name the two as co-conspirators in the shooting. Thug’s former manager Jimmy “PeeWee Roscoe” Winfrey ultimately pled guilty to six of the 27 charges he was facing over the shooting and was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 10 years of probation.

Winfrey’s case was eventually overturned but now, the driver of the bus is suing him as well as Thug and Birdman, alleging that the two conspired in the shooting. In court documents filed by the driver’s lawyer, Jeff Gewirtz, phone records show that Thugger called Winfrey eight times in 12 minutes leading up to the shooting.

The attorney also obtained audio of a prison phone call between Birdman and Winfrey, where Birdman could be heard saying, “Time for you to come out here and get your money. You did everything you could do boss … it’s eye-opening. (It’s) strictly business, man.” It is believed that Winfrey participated in the shooting as a means of gang initiation.

According to lawyer Manny Arora, who represented Roscoe during the first trial, the civil suit filed by the bus driver is simply a money grab.  “This is just a bus driver looking to get paid and they need a deep pocket so if you connect Mr. Winfrey to other musicians or executives, that makes it a viable case for them,” he said.
