Nobu Houston, the latest branch of the global sushi powerhouse has announced that they will begin accepting reservations at 10 a.m. Tuesday (May 22) for dinner service beginning next Friday (June 1).

It will be the second restaurant to open in the Galleria’s new collection of restaurants in the former Saks Fifth Avenue space. Fig & Olive opened in March and Nobu will follow suit. There will be a new taco spot, Blanco Tacos & Tequila and Musaafer, a modern Indian restaurant coming down the road.

The updated renderings of the building will give future patrons an idea of what they can expect from the 290-seat, 10,000-square-foot space in the Galleria area. Japanese-inspired fabrics, Italian flooring and “floating white oak beams,” according to a press release.

With over 30 locations across the globe, Nobu has established itself as one of the more well-known sushi restaurants in the world. Founded by super chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, the restaurant is known for its signature dishes, black cod with miso and yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño.

The two-story Galleria location will be accessible by a private elevator or staircase. Floor-to-ceiling windows should provide plenty of light and a number of private dining rooms should provide ample amounts of space for celebrations and corporate events. If you want a more intimate experience, you may consider the 12-seat sushi bar.
