Virgil Abloh has generated large gains in men’s fashion from the Off-White brand partnering with Nike and the launch of his Pyrex Vision company. On Monday, Abloh made another big move as he was named the new artistic director of men’s wear for Louis Vuitton.

Abloh becomes the first African-American artistic director for LV and he said he was overjoyed to be joining the popular brand.  “This opportunity to think through what the next chapter of design and luxury will mean at a brand that represents the pinnacle of luxury was always a goal in my wildest dreams,” he told The New York Times. “And to show a younger generation that there is no one way anyone in this kind of position has to look is a fantastically modern spirit in which to start.”

Before launching his own brands, Abloh and friend Kanye West interned at Fendi. Six months at the Italian fashion house essentially helped Abloh land his position at LV. He’s not stopping with Off-White, especially those dope Nike collaborations.
