Let’s count the number of reboots either happening or in the works. There’s Fuller House, House Party, Charmed, Sister, Sister and possibly even Martin, right? Well, looks like the classic ’90s sitcom, The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air is getting a reboot but not exactly with the same plot as a kid moving from Philly to be with his uncle and his auntie. Instead, it’s going to be a princess instead of a prince.
According to TMZ, NBC Universal, which owns the copyrights for the series has reportedly filed a few new trademark applications for the rights to use “Fresh Princess” on TV and other media platforms. The company also filed trademarks for “Fresh Princess” on merchandise such as backpacks, clothing, bags, and footwear. Of course, the company filed trademarks for merchandise from the original series to show up as well.
Oh, and the King of Instagram also helped fuel a few rumors in his own way.
There’s no telling whether or not Smith himself will be part of the reboot but there was that one image of him skydiving where he looked exactly like the original Uncle Phil, James Avery.
So what say you? You down for a trip back to Bel-Air? Do you want Willow or Jaden to take part?
