Jhené Aiko is currently using Instagram to swarm her boyfriend Big Sean’s comments with the kinds of comments you usually leave in a DM. Overseas in the UK, the “Sativa” singer discussed how her and Sean became an item. “We became friends the year that my brother passed,” she told BBC Radio 1 Xtra. “I had just met him and we worked on ‘Beware’ and ‘I’m Gonna Be.’ He wanted to take me out on a date. I had a boyfriend, but I still went…just as a friend. I had never been courtside to a game and he’s cool. I told my boyfriend ‘I’m gonna go to this game.’”

The “boyfriend” come to find out was secretly married the entire time of he and Aiko’s relationship. Even after she ended that bad romance, Aiko couldn’t become an item with Sean due to the fact he was still in a relationship at the time. “When I came around, I was like, ‘Okay, let’s see what you’re talking about,’ he had a girlfriend,” she added. “I took too long. I was like, ‘That’s cool. We’re still friends.’ We were performing together still and recording and all that.”

Even early on the two didn’t kiss but once their schedules finally aligned … their love became real public. So public that Aiko does have a tattoo of Sean’s face on her arm.

Oh and as far as that “eating booty like groceries” line from Omarion’s smash single “‘Posed To Be”? Aiko says it was something that rhymed and she really doesn’t get down like that. “Contrary to popular belief, because I sang that, I don’t like that,” she said. “It was like a joke to me. It was funny and it rhymed with ‘posed to be.”
