The Safdie brothers are taking a new direction in directing with the remake of the action comedy 48 Hours.
The brothers will be working alongside the comedian Jerrod Carmichael, the co-creator and star of the NBC sitcom The Carmichael Show while he writes the script with them.

In 1982, 48 Hours was a major hit for Paramount with actor Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte as the stars. The film was Murphy’s first major role.

Murphy played the convict and Nolte the detective trying to track down cop killers while Murphy’s character is on a two-day leave from prison. The original film was directed by Walter Hill and it grossed $80 million.
Further details like release date and casting have not been announced yet.
