Riq Tries To Get The Hell Out Of Dodge.

Riq irritates the hell out of us and we are quite sure everyone feels the same exact way as we do at this point about this character. After realizing he’s not built for a life of crime, Riq puts his plan in motion to get the hell out of dodge and take his lean sipping ass to Connecticut to go to a private school like his sister suggested.

With his former partners in crime Brains and his crony looking for him, the pressure is on Riq who knows they are not just looking to discuss the incident that happened last episode. Riq thinks he has it all figured out but little does he know that Brains will be the least of his worries. “Officer” Ray Ray is also on the case and he is looking to tie up the loose ends that may lead back to him so that includes everyone involved with the robbery.

Riq does his best to avoid Brains by continually dodging his phone calls but that method eventually fails when Brains finds Riq shooting hoops.

Brains isn’t there to play ball either , he wants to know why Riq isn’t returning any of his texts? Riq plays it cool with them but he brings up Ray Ray which is a cause for concern with Brains. After the brief conversation it would seem that Brains is content with Riq’s explanation for running out of the house after seeing them kill that white woman. Things don’t ultimately work out for Brains and his buddy though.
Ray Ray stops by to ask them some questions about the job and they explain what happened.Ray Ray plays it off real smooth like he’s just there to help them cover it all up but that wasn’t the case at all. Ray Ray was there to start operation keep the heat off his ass and he kills Brains and his partner .

The next person on that list is now Riq and he wastes no time in seeking him out.

Ray Ray heads to Riq’s to school to look for him and interrupts Raina’s class to ask her about his whereabouts.

Raina being the loyal good sister she is, informs Ray Ray she doesn’t know where Riq is. Now Raina is no dummy and she clearly gets her detective skills from her momma. She find’s Riq’s strung out ass knocked out in his room, she tells him about the cop that paid her class a visit looking for him. She tells Riq his name and he reveals to her that Officer Raymond is a crooked cop .
Raina already figures out that’s why he wants to leave now and Riq confirms her suspicions. Riq makes Raina promise not to tell anyone especially their parents and she agrees.

With his plan in motion to leave, Riq meets up with his boo Destiny to make sure he has his lean supplier in the loop and let her know about his school change.

. Unfortunately for Riq, Destiny is related to Ray Ray and he uses her to set up a meeting with Riq.

Ray Ray now knows that Riq will be attending his school dance, and this will set up an unfortunate turn of events that will turn the St.Patrick’s lives upside down.

Angela Gets An Even Better Job.

We may hate Angela with every ounce of our souls, but we have to be real when it comes to season 4 she has been C L U T C H !

Not only did she save Ghost from the needle by telling the truth, last week she also got Christmas cancelled on Mike Sandoval in the most clever of ways.
Angela right now is a free agent and a hot commodity once again since she brought down Mike. Speaking with the new U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District Tameika Robinson (Quincy Tyler Bernstine), she receives high praise for saving the Justice Departments ass.

The silver lining in bringing down Greg was that it closed both the Knox and Lobos cases. Robinson wants Angela to take the lead and be the face of the new and improved department and help restore the publics faith in them . BUT Angela has bigger ambitions and wants the head of criminal position. Robinson has other plans and asks her who would be a better choice to fill that position, Mak or Saxe?

Angela wasn’t too happy to hear that and asked why not her? Robinson replies back by telling her yeah she saved the department but she also put department’s ass on the line numerous times as well. She finishes the conversation by asking Angela if she was in her shoes would she give herself the job?

Knowing that she’s not in line for the head of criminal job, Angela decides to weigh her options (increase her value) and sets up a meeting with her rival Proctor.
The two discuss Angela possibly joining his firm with Proctor seeing all of the possibilities of having someone like herself on his team. Proctor talked a good game but it’s when he revealed he doesn’t really care if his clients are innocent or guilty that rubbed Angela the wrong way. She’s all for the truth and Proctor is a sleazy defense attorney and that’s why he’s good at his job honestly, he gives zero fucks. Angela respectfully decides not to partner up with Proctor and leaves him hanging on the bill. We honestly believe she had no intentions of joining Proctor to begin with.

Proctor isn’t the only one who wants Angela on their team, Mak also tries to recruit her to his team. Before heading to the Destroy Injustice Gala, that will be also honoring her ex James St.Patrick, Mak stops by Angela’s apartment to make her an offer.

Mak reveals to Angela that he’s going to get the head of criminal job and that he wants her on his team because she is pit bull. Angela shuts him down immediately pointing out that he only wants her to keep her from joining the defense team. Hmmm think he found out about that meeting with Proctor?

Angela seems to be playing a strategic game of chess lately and everyone is playing right into her hands. She heads to the gala and it’s there where she makes her power move. She whispers something in Tameika’s ear before she steps up to the podium to make her announcement on who is the new head of criminal. Mak is extremely confident that he is going to get the job and even steps up on the podium. In a sudden move Tameika names Angela to the position totally catching both Saxe and an extremely disappointed Mak by surprise.

Angela jut leveled up quite easily!

Now is it just us? Or have we heard this whole situation before with another character on this show? Remember Ghost wanted to go legit but his wife Tasha was like no? So now that she has quickly found love in a hopeless place with her husband’s lawyer Silver she has dreams of going clean.

Tasha shares her crime free dreams with her new lover of opening a hair franchise with Keisha giving her the ability to be absolutely independent of her soon-to-be ex husband James. Terry eats all of her ambitions up as well her in the process, can we also add how annoying this new couple is by the way. This is also music to her to bestie, LaKeisha’s ears who is definitely on board with the idea but Tommy can’t be nowhere near or involved with the shops.
Tasha makes no mention of Silver though being the inspiration of this drug free epiphany so it’s going to be interesting to see how this works out when Keisha finds out about him. Chances are she’s gonna be for it because she can’t stand Ghost’s cheating ass but at the same time she will be salty cause she’s lonely again.
We shall see though.

After Dre burns down the warehouse with all of the product in it Tommy is in a serious bind.

He’s already high off the coke he took from his mother’s house after ransacking it looking for his birth certificate. Keisha is not feeling Tommy anymore after he left her hanging after their last smash session. Tommy does explain to her what happened in his life since then and Keisha looks like she has some sympathy for him. But as far as letting him using her and the shop to get the cash Keisha was like:

Tommy is now 0-2 so his last hope is none other than his brother Ghost and this meeting was pure comedy. Tommy returns to the St.Patrick residence and he is high as a kite and Ghost knows it. Ghost tells him to meet him in the back and they go at it like they are married. Tommy breaks down everything that is going on with Jimenez and what happened to the warehouse and Ghost wants nothing to do with it.
The shouting match between the both of them gets intense with each touching sensitive subjects. Ghost takes things a bit too far for Tommy’s liking when he mentions his dad and Tommy hilariously headbutts Ghost.

Tommy is like Patti LaBelle, he’s on his own now when it comes to the drug game. With no one else to turn to, Tommy goes and pays his dad a visit.

Tony asks if there is anything he can help his son with? Tommy replies yes quickly and he also lets his dad know that he’s ready to meet the rest of the Teresi family.

Ghost Plan Backfires.

Ghost is not happy he has to be Stern’s token black businessman at the expense of his wife borrowing money from him. Ghost of course is always cunning and looking for the best way to put himself in the best position to come out on top in situations that don’t benefit him at first. During a meeting with his new business buddy Councilman Tate, he divulges some of the stipulations of his contract with Stern.

The two discover something in Ghost’s contract that they can take advantage of that can help Ghost make some more coins in his deal. At the board meeting to approve Simon and James venture, Tate brings the contractual issue up at the meeting and the committee agrees not to vote on the contract till it is corrected. Thanks to Tate, Ghost will now get a larger cut of Stern’s take but now he owes Tate and his means of compensation wont sit well with him.
After having a small and touching reunion with Angela at the gala, Tate shows up with some company.

Tate is accompanied by Alphonse, Ghost noticed Tate heading off to speak with the young hustler while he was conducting an interview with Oliva Gorman. In order for their redevelopment plan to be a success they need to rid the streets of drug dealers and the only way that can happen is money. In exchange for Tate helping Ghost get more money, he wants him to make sure Alphonse is well compensated as well. Ghost definitely had a look of shock on his face at these new developments.

Maybe he should have listened to Stern? One thing is definitely certain, Ghost is not a fan of being taken advantage of, we know he won’t let this situation go on as is for too long!

The Kanan Factor

When he’s not leaking episodes of his own show he’s still acting in it. Kanan is still a factor and he will be involved once again after another failed attempt on his life.
Dre is trying to make sure his path to the top of the drug game is free of any obstacles. He already has Tommy on the ropes and pretty much out-of-the-way but that still leaves the issue of Kanan. Throughout the episode Dre has been avoiding hilariously emoji filled text messages.

Dre enlists the help of his new partner Cristobal to take care of the boogeyman of Power. Unfortunately for Dre, Cristobal hired the worst hitmen every to handle the job. TWO that’s right TWO men failed to take out ONE guy as Kanan easily dispatched his knife wielding attackers killing them with the knife they brought.

Now we don’t know if that will lead right back to Dre, but all we do know is he has a huge Kanan problem on his hands now. We don’t usually root for Kanan here but after all of the sneaky shit Dre has done this season we hope Kanan cancels Christmas on him immediately for the culture!

Raina Makes The Ultimate Sacrifice

This is the moment for us where Riq officially took over sole possession as the most hated character on Power. All throughout this season despite how he treated Raina, she stood by her moronic brother. Unfortunately her loyalty got her killed in the process. Riq thinks he is going to get out his situation blemish free and head to Connecticut without a worry in the world.

Riq set up a plan with his boo thang Destiny to meet him at his dance to supply him with some lean and some buns. What Riq didn’t know was that Ray Ray was pulling Destiny’s strings and he was setting up the whole thing. The night of the dance comes and Riq goes outside looking for Destiny and his lean. Instead he is greeted by Ray Ray and he immediately goes intro track star mode. Ray Ray loses sight of Riq and at that moment is confronted by Raina.

Unlike her brother, Raina is no punk and lets Ray Ray know that she knows who he is and to leave her brother alone. Ray Ray knows he can’t have anyone knowing that he’s a crooked cop pulls out his gun and points at it Raina.

Time immediately slows down and with Riq watching, Ray Ray guns down his sister in cold-blood. Our instant reaction is accurately depicted in the gif below.

Ray Ray’s punk ass runs off and Riq immediately runs to his sister’s lifeless body. In a sad moment Riq calls out to her but we all know she’s gone and the screen fades to black.

This will mess Riq up even more mentally cause he will definitely feel this is all his fault (it is). How will he deal with it? Will he tell his parents exactly what happened? Or will he continue to lie? One thing is definitely for sure based off the trailer for next week’s episode, Raina’s death will unite the family as they will be out for blood and seek to avenge Raina’s death!

WE CANNOT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK’S SEASON FINALE!
