On the night her husband was murdered, Pei “Sanny” Xia Chen went to the hospital to find out that her husband’s injuries were fatal and it was then that the doctors asked Sanny if she wanted to preserve her husband’s semen for any future child.
“Of course she said yet,” a friend of Sanny told the The Post.
Now, nearly three years since Wenjian Liu and his partner Rafael Ramos were shot and killed while sitting in their patrol car in Brooklyn, Sanny gave birth to their first and only child, a daughter.

The baby who she calls “Angel” is her tribute to her slain husband who she calls her hero and Sanny even has her husband’s police cap there so that their daughter can sleep next to it.
Sanny said that the day she was artificially inseminated, “she had a dream that Wenjian was there in a white gown looking like an angel and that he handed her a baby, and he said, ‘It’s a girl, a little angel.’ ” said a fellow cop widow Maria Dziergowski.
She continues with saying, “So [Sanny] knew before everyone that it was a girl. The baby’s adorable, smiling, laughing. She has a lot of hair, a lot of black hair.”
The slain officer and his wife Sanny had only been married for three months before their killer Ismaaiyl Brinkley walked up to their patrol car and fatally shooting him and his partner Ramos.
Since Sanny’s husband was an only child to his parents, the new baby is also a blessing for his parents too.
Dziergowski said that Wenjian’s parents, “were very emotional, crying an holding the baby.”
At his funeral his father said, “Today is the saddest day in my life. My only son has left me.”
Sanny is among a group of NYPD’s widowed wives and she was even loved on by some her husbands female cop co-workers too.
