Last night a pair of armed robbers shot and killed Javier Flores, 18, while he and his mother were working at a SE Houston Subway restaurant on the 3900 block of Broadway St. at 8:00 p.m.
During the time of the robbery, the 18-year and his mom were the only two employees working last night at the restaurant.

One of the two robbers held Javier’s mom up at gunpoint and that’s when Javier jumped between his mom and the gun and was shot in the neck by the suspect.
After they shot Javier, the pair took off towards I-45 feeder/service road in a four-door, gold-colored sedan.
Afterwards, emergency responders rushed Javier to Ben Taub where he was pronounced dead.

“They’re out here working and doing what they’re supposed to be doing and then these two suspects came in and cut that short, and certainly there was nothing in there that was worth the life of the 18 year old,” Detective David Crowder told the news.

And to make it even worse, the police do not believe that the guys stole anything from the Subway.
There has been a  GoFundMe page set-up in order too help raise money for Javier’s family to bury the 18-year old who is being called “A Hero” for protection this mom. Javier was still a student at Cesar Chavez High School that is just two miles away from the Subway restaurant.
The witnesses described the two robbers as two young black males. One is believed to be between 18-20 years old, 5ft 6 in to 5ft 8in and wearing a dark blue hoodie with black pants.
The second suspect was described as 17 years old and wearing a light blue hood with dark pants.
The police believe that this is the same pair that armed robbed another Subway on San Jacinto and Wentworth at 8:45 p.m.
