Actor and comedian Mike Epps and his friend Thomas Cobb were arrested over the weekend at the Harrah’s Casino in New Orleans after they beat-up a Virginia man for some “unprovoked” reason.
The Virginia man said that he doesn’t want to identify himself publicly, but said that he was visiting New Orleans for the NBA All-Star Game and the events and was simply gambling at the Casino. It was when he was heading to the cashier’s window when he spotted the celeb around 4 a.m.

The man said. “We kind of met right there in the middle and I recommend him. I said ‘Oh, Mike Epp!'”
The arrest affidavits for Epps and Cobb stated that the two were “(I)involved in a physical altercation” and that they “Struck” the man. The pair were booked at the municipal courts of battery, but were later bailed out on $1,000 bond.
He accounts the incident by phone and said, “The next thing I know, he started hitting me in the face, unprovoked. I had a handful of chips, so I just basically bent down to protect myself, and then my friends ran over and got in front of me, and then security got there.”
The man said that due to his injuries he did miss the All-Star practice and aid, “My face is still swollen right now and it was blackened shut.”
He also said that he was unaware that Epps and Cobb was arrested, but, “It’s a relief, because I thought he got away.”
It’s unfortunate to report that Epps and Cobb both failed to make an appearance for their arraignment in the Municipal Court on Tuesday too.
Epps was in New Orleans for a performance he did at a comedy festival at UNO Lakefront Arena on Friday night. The attorney for the pair did not respond to the reporters request for a comment either.
