The New York Knicks are not a good professional basketball team right now, sorry Knick fans.

Nothing seems to be going right with the Knicks, they are losing games at an alarming rate, their star player Carmelo Anthony is the subject of constant trade rumors, their owner James Dolan and team president Phil Jackson stink and now their treatment of past Knicks legends has been put on full display. It’s no secret that James Dolan is no fan of Oakley because like many Knicks fans Charles is very critical of Dolan and the current state of the Knicks. Dolan’s response to Oakley’s criticism was banishment and no free tickets which is absolutely absurd given what Oakley meant to that franchise.

Last night, Oakley purchased his own tickets to the (which is crazy) he said was question why was he here when the Knicks found out he was seated behind James Dolan.

Security then tried to remove the former Knicks enforcer and as you can see from the video above it was no easy task. Oakley didn’t go quietly and made sure his imposing presence was still felt and was subsequently arrested. The Knicks quickly followed the incident up with a very tacky press release:

Oakley was released this morning and spoke on the incident last night during an interview at a local bar.

Fans, former players/coaches and even the King himself Lebron James sided with the Oak man.

Both parties took a L that night but the Knicks will be feeling this one more than Oakley honestly. You just don’t treat former players who gave your organization their blood and sweat every time they stepped on the court like that. Now as you can imagine the internet doesn’t miss a moment to make light of a situation. Of course they made memes, and of course we got them all here for you. Hit the gallery to check them out:
